Counting Conflict Points

A four-leg intersection and a single-lane compact roundabout, side by side. A conflict point is anywhere two vehicle paths cross, merge or split, or where a vehicle path meets a crosswalk. The intersection has 32 and the roundabout has 8, with no crossing conflicts at all. The second part looks at how people biking and walking get through, and what Dutch designers have changed to make roundabouts work better for cyclists.
